THE MYSTERY OF THE CARDBOARD MAN

The Mystery of the Cardboard Man is a powerful production that explores the science of flight and generational trauma. It blends theatre, science, and audio reportage in exciting ways. I served as the director and co-dramaturg for the piece, and co-taught the class in which the piece was created.

The show is a new short, devised play crafted by the talented NYU students, in collaboration with Guest Artist Adam Savage of TV's Mythbusters, esteemed journalism professor Ellen Horne, co-founder of RadioLab, and myself in the class Performing Science & Magic: Devised Theatre Laboratory. This unique blend of expertise created a show that is both a scientific exploration and a poignant portrayal of father-son relationships and the history and science of flight.

Co-Creators: Craig Hunter, Lizzie Leach, Derek Mulkins, Wendy Zhang, Ellen Horne, Adama Savage, and Daniel Leeman Smith.
